The Mountain Brothers were a band that in another time and place could have gone somewhere. Rejected by the masses after inventing a hybrid genre combining bluegrass and noise rock (noise grass), the brothers moved on to post grass taking the traditional bluegrass song and joining it with stylistic flourishes of post rock and no wave. Moving further away from their original sound, they soon found themselves embracing straight up noise, creating magical drones that were far removed from their bluegrass beginnings. Before they could reconcile the two approaches to music, circumstances led the band members apart, placing the project on indefinite hiatus.
